Ford Model: Focus 1.8 Sport. Ford Year: 2007. UK/Ireland Location: Hampshire. Posted October 3, 2014. Hi guys, Basically I've got a 2007 1.8 ford focus sport mk2, duratec engine. It used to stutter when accelerating at low revs, so changed the spark plus, issue went away! However now when I'm driving it will just randomly lose power when I put
When we bought our Mk2.5 1.8HE Zetec hatch we still had our old Mk1.5 1.8TDCi Ghia estate and I found the Mk2.5 a lot noisier, more engine noise, more road noise and a lot more wind noise. Of course this wasn't a fair like-for-like comparison because the sound insulation was probably better on the Ghia.
Yep, just noticed that, you're probably right. Can't find out why my mk2 2009 1.8 petrol is over fuelling. I have checked the 02 sensors, sprayed everywhere to check for vacuum leaks, had it serviced, used forscan to check fuel trims, the stf and lft add up to 8 if that, which by industry standards is ok i believe..

I have still found little hard data, but some suggestion that a petrol engine needs more air & fuel than that to maintain idle, perhaps up to 3:1 turndown, or 33%, or 33kPa. And that would stack up with positive fuel trims that increase (presumably) the amount of fuel injected, above the baseline pcm mapping for the given MAP reading & RPM.
There is no lift pump in the tank on any of the Focus Mk2 Diesel cars, 1.8, 1.6, 2L. The main diesel pump has to do all of the work of sucking fuel up out of the tank. That is why air in fuel lines can be such a problem.
